BitJazz SheerVideo Versatility Platforms
work with your favorite applications
SheerVideo is implemented as a set of QuickTime codecs, so you can use it with all your favorite professional video applications,
including Adobe After Effects,
Apple Final Cut Pro*,
Pinnacle Commotion,
VIDVOX GRID2, and hundreds more.
On Windows, SheerVideo is also available as a set of Windows Media (AVI) codecs, currently in beta.
*Note: In Final Cut Pro, you can use SheerVideo for real-time capture, export, playback, cutting, and import,
but unfortunately Final Cut Pro still does not support real-time effects for third-party codecs such as SheerVideo.
If you would like to see real-time transitions and effects with SheerVideo in Final Cut Pro RT,
please send a friendly suggestion to the FCP team.
Thanks to Synchromy technology,
SheerVideo now lets you edit RGB footage such as digitized film and synthetic imagery using Y'CbCr video tools,
and edit Y'CbCr video footage using RGB tools,
without worrying about generational loss or even first-generation loss.
work on your favorite platform
SheerVideo nondestructive video compression is currently available for both Mac and Windows PC.
The Windows PC edition runs under all versions of Windows, including '95, '98, Me, 2000, NT, XP, and Vista.
For the Mac, a fat Universal Binary (UB) edition runs in both native Intel mode and in Rosetta PowerPC emulation mode on Mac Intels,
while a separate slim Intel edition runs in native Intel mode only.
A PowerPC (PPC) edition runs under any version of Mac OS X on any PowerPC-based Mac,
as well as in Rosetta mode on a Mac Intel.
A legacy Classic edition is also available for PowerPC-based Macs running Mac OS 9 or Mac OS 8.
SheerVideo for Mac includes versions of each direct lossless image codec optimized for G3, G4 (AltiVec), and G5,
and the decoders are multiprocessor-enabled,
so it can make the most of whatever processors are available.
The Windows PC and Mac Intel editions will soon include a version optimized for MMX and SSE as well.
A Linux PC edition is in the works as well.
